Deadly Descents

SSX is a franchise that had me from the very first title in the series. It is such a great, stylistic game with a ton of over the top tricks, exciting tracks and (mostly) cool characters. On top of that it has some cool character customization options, fitting and pumping music, tight controls and thrilling multi-player. When SSX 3 came out, I thought that EA Big had reached the pinnacle of snowboarding racers. It was the absolute best sequel that could have been made in my opinion and even going back to it now (7 1/2 YEARS later) it is still visually appealing and a marvel of a great arcade style game for a console.

Time warp forward from 2003 to last December and we find that EA has announced a new sequel by the name of Deadly Descents. Wow, when I heard that there was a trailer out for a new SSX I just about jumped for joy. When I finally watched it, I was disappointed in the fact that it was just a CG teaser with nothing of the gameplay itself. Even if there was no in-game footage, I was simply happy to hear that a new installment in a beloved series was being worked on.

Now here we are at the end of February 2011 and we have no real news for it and I’m starting to get hungry for more…well anything really. Sitting around thinking about it will do me no good, so I figured what better way to deal with my withdrawal then to make a comic! Anticipating features from a lack of footage and a title with numerous possible meanings, this is what I anticipate the game will likely be about. Snowboarding, dinos, robots, and clones are all “in” right?

Go for the gold EA, you can’t loose with this winning combination!!

World of Warcraft has been on my mind a lot less lately. Bear's been working rather diligently and seeing him like that, I just can't get into the mood to play games. I keep thinking of how I should be working hard too.

Bear and I've been ahead of our comic schedule lately and it's a really great feeling; It's a lot less stressful and it strangely feels like there's a lot more time in the day to relax and sleep. I don't think I've felt this way in a long time, even when we'd have a couple days or so off between doing comic pages. It feels practically like a vacation even though we're still working on it. I hope we can keep this schedule up for a long time and keep pushing forward to being even more ahead so we can have more time to pursue more projects.

I'm not really sure why it feels like I can relax more and I don't think it's because I haven't been playing much WoW lately considering that I barely seemed to play much in the first place. I 'm thinking though that it's possibly due to the two most recent comics being much simpler in comparison to the ones before them. I hope this isn't the case and that it's just because we've gotten faster and better.
