"A video game comic and blog that would have been awesome and relevant 10 years ago. Maybe." -Famous Website
Last week, I wrote a prediction article regarding the Wii-U and the possibilities that it brought to gaming. Seeing that Nintendo may once again be poised to make Sony and Microsoft green with sales and popularity envy, I decided to use my Bear powers of foresight to reveal some startling truths about E3 2015. Behold as I distill the mystical vision into a summary of fateful events forthcoming. I only ask that, for my sake, that you savor them for bringing this revelation was provided at the expense of my eyesight.
I'm rather excited about the state of LiA lately. I feel like this week's comic was of remarkable high production value. The more I work on foreground coloring, the more confident I have been getting with producing in a way that helps accentuate Pie's art. I really got tired of color flatting and seeing it sit blandly in front of Pie's colorful backgrounds. I'm especially proud of it this week because it includes a number of glows as well as hair shading that I thought came out pretty nicely. I have a long way to catch up to being a decent artist, but working side by side with a great mentor like Pie helps tremendously.
I think that the quality of work has a lot to do with our quality of life, which seems to have improved dramatically through working on LiA. For me especially, being a creator and being in the creation process make me happier than I've ever been before. Getting comments and favorites on Deviant Art, "Likes" on Facebook and followers on both it and Twitter makes both of us feel honored and humbled but also make me think that, "This is it. There are real people out there getting enjoyment from what we do. We both owe it to them to do our best." It is this constant state of gratitude that compels me to write it so often. I feel bad more of our thoughts posts aren't insights into the industry, but at the same time, I think if you appreciate and are grateful for something, you really must proclaim it.
Next week we are going to try and push for some possible T-Shirt designs and see what you all think. We are looking at offering prints and some other swagtastic stuff as well, so be on the lookout for that. You will most likely see me ninja in posts throughout the week as we work on them. I'm still wrestling with how we are going to tackle fulfillment, but I figured I would throw it out there to get some ideas pumping and feedback going before we actually get to the nitty-gritty.
P.S. I was so happy with how this one turned out, that you can find a high res version here.
