"A video game comic and blog that would have been awesome and relevant 10 years ago. Maybe." -Famous Website
Pie and I have always been fairly open when it comes to connecting with people we've met through the comic. We've been very fortunate over the course of the comic to meet some really amazing, kind and generous people. Working on a comic from home and having no concept of how many people actually read our work, it can often be surprising to find how many people we made smile or have impacted. We certainly don't have an opportunity to connect with everyone, but when it happens it's often a fun experience.
We've made some really close friends this way, just by being able to share a hobby or even a similar life experience or set of values. We can connect and share with one another and become bonded just as any other friendship. One of the things that we've often heard is that people think that Pie and I are very open about our experiences, thoughts and feelings. To us, I don't really think we know any other sort of way to live, and maybe that is part of why we do the comic in the way we do. We are just sharing our experience and hoping that people can connect with that.
There has been something very rewarding being able to live in a manner that is unguarded and honest about our insecurities, faults, and quirks. It's been something that, when people get to really know us, I feel accepted in the most raw and pure form possible. As difficult as it is to learn to be comfortable with living in such a vulnerable state, I do think a wealth of growth and connection await those who do~
