Pie has become quite enamored with the idea that, within the elements of Pokemon Go, we can realistically achieve world peace. Okay, maybe not seriously, but she is forever the hopeful dreamer and Iíd like to think that certainly gaming, especially ones that bring together large communities of people that are happy, stimulated and engaged can certainly achieve something.
Augmented Reality is an incredibly interesting proposition because it provides a link for gamers to connect with the physical world in meaningful ways that they might not have tried otherwise. Things like taking healthy walks on a regular basis or even striking up conversations with neighbors that people may not have been inclined to do without Pokemon Go, now have a bit more of a compelling reason to do so. Many people have already been experiencing how neat it is to run into other players and have impromptu conversations about their beloved Pokemon.
When people are more engaged in the real world and take their skills at game mastery and make the transference to physical life, amazing things can be achieved. I think that, in so many ways, playing games has made both Pie and me more resilient, more confident and more positive that we can reach our goals no matter the difficulty and despite the resistance. Itís not necessarily easy and achievements arenít obtained easily, but the persistent attitude from gaming when applied elsewhere will yield results.
Speaking of achieving goals, Iíve been working on a number of really large personal goals lately that have kept me extremely busy which is why you all havenít been hearing from me much. Iíll be talking about it sooner rather than later in more depth, but rest assured itís been positive and, for those keeping track, Iím doing a lot better with the depression that I had been dealing with~
