We just finished playing Transformers: War of Cybertron and boy is it epic, for both the Decepticon and Autobot campaigns! XD It was so interesting and fun seeing the build up of events that led up to where the first cartoon series launched! =D -especially Starscream's introduction and Optimus getting the Matrix. We've only experienced the single player campaign but it totally delivered on all cylinders!
I was a huge transformer fan when I was small so I was super stoked after first seeing the concept art used for Transformers:WoC, especially after experiencing the Michael Bay movie. >_> It blew me away how well of a job the designers for the game did at carrying over the classic feel of the first generation characters; you can really tell that the creators themselves are fans of the franchise which was even more exciting!
When I was small, I always kept my eyes open for yellow Volkswagon beetles and red flat front semi trucks, imagining that they were Bumblebee and Optimus Prime and using them as models to imagine how large Transformers would be in real life. Even today, whenever I see a semi or a classic beetle, regardless of color, I instinctively think of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. =)
My only super small disappointment of the game I suppose is that when you fight Soundwave, he sends out three out of four of his iconic cassette tape enemies; he doesn't send out Ravage, one of my favorites. >.< -but I can't really complain since the whole game was awesome and tickled my childhood funny bone on the side. ;_; It also kinda sucked running out of ammo, but I suppose it's good because it keeps the tension up. It's not like ammo is tooooo hard to find either.
I'm really looking forward to the day when we can check out the sequel game, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, especially since it has the dinobots and character exclusive abilities. A friend told me that it seems that young kids' interests tend to fall into two groups, space or dinosaurs. Dinobots (in some cases) are DINOSAURS in SPACE, so it's a total win-win situation for everyone!! =D
