If you've been keeping up on game news or read my post on March 1st, you probably know about Skullgirls and Lab Zero's crowd funding project to make additional content. It ended yesterday and though their initial goal was $150k to add one character to the fighter roster, in the end they raised $829,829; enough to add five characters and a bunch more content!! It's practically Skullgirls 2!! Lab Zero provided a list of characters for the Skullgirls community to choose from to add to the roster.

It was really exciting to be part of the funding campaign and watching the funds go up during its remaining hours. My congratulations to those of you at Lab Zero; I'm very happy for you guys!! For those of you who missed the campaign, don't fret, they're still accepting donations with the same reward positions for the next two weeks through Paypal here: operations labzerogames com. =)

To tell you the truth, I've never actually played Skullgirls, but we've downloaded the demo and really want to get it. Seeing Skullgirls always makes me feel really happy and inspired and yet really frustrated at the same time. I'm so happy for its creators and yet so jealous. I've always yearned to breathe life into my creations. Doing comics is great, but the idea of seeing your characters breath, move, speak, and having the ability to control and interact with them sounds so magical, especially if it's done as beautifully as Skullgirls looks. It reminds me of an interview I read of Harada (artist and character designer for Disgaea) in which he said in the middle of working, sometimes he'd go downstairs to watch the animators work which he also described as being like "magic." *sigh*

-anyway, I've never been super at fighting games, but I hear Skullgirl's fighting trainer option is really good! =D I've done a bit of it on the demo and as little as I've tried, it's still the best I've seen. XD I'm looking forward to honing my skill and taking down some challengers once Squigly is released and Bear and I pick up the game! >D
