Pumpkin Pining

october 26, 2019

Yep! I'm still playing Dragalia Lost a year after it was released for mobile devices. It's my one year anniversary! "Fazooo~" (throws confetti around... then cleans it up). I started playing the game halfway into last year's Halloween event and, at the time, didn't know I could fight the pumpkin king boss with other players, so being the weakling I was, didn't even come close to gathering enough materials to finish building my candy house on my in-game castle grounds. It just sat there, TEASING me, unfinished and spoiling for months. Every once in a while during the year, I'd honestly count out the months left until October, in anticipation and excited to hopefully finish the house. It sounds like I was a little obsessed, but I don't know, I just love the Halloween theme.

I think Halloween has always been my favorite holiday out of the year because of the bold color combinations and icons used in its celebration. To be honest, I don't think I really cared much for witches until I started seeing them depicted in anime and video games. XD

Bear kinda teases me about this, but I also really love the feeling of "little kid" horror; that kind of creepiness that isn't really scary, but has a sense that though things are bordering the norm, that something isn't quite right and there might be something darker or mysterious beyond what's in front of us; ah, but not TOO dark because I can't stand horror or gore. @_@ -So, whenever it's revealed that I can explore a haunted-like setting, houses, trains, boats'n all that Jazz, in video games, I get pretty excited! +u+

Yep, Halloween. I wish I had many more chances to see it heavily celebrated when this time of the year rolls around.
