Holy Mother of Busy-ness Batman! I am in fact still alive, with the bonus of a baby. He's going to be 5 months old on the 13th already! He's already up to almost 17 lbs, which is crazy, and killer on the arms. The cats are great with him, especially Milo oddly enough. Giant cat loves the baby. I could spam the ever-living daylights out of the thread with pictures, but I won't because that takes far more energy than I have.
I've been back to work for a while, and while I love the cats it gets very stressful. Usually Roll and I work opposite shifts so that one of us can always stay with him, but last Friday we had to have someone else watch him. It was only for three hours, and with one of the girls I work with who has an almost 2 year old. It was still super rough. I hate being away from him! Dread it, even when he's with Roll. Hopefully by tax time I'll be able to go down to one or two days a week.
I had a very, very rough start with breastfeeding, but Roll found a support group that has really helped me get through the tough times. I'm so proud that he is 100% breastfed and hasn't had a drop of anything else. Pumping isn't easy, but it sure is easier than dealing with formula (and cheaper!) so I do that while at work and Roll bottle feeds him what I pump. I had a horrifying day at work a few weeks back where our walkie-talkies KILLED my pump. I had a meltdown, but luckily a girl from work (the same one who baby sat for us actually) had a pump I borrowed the rest of that weekend. Ameda replaced my dead one under warranty, and even overnighted me the replacement. Sorry if anyone is creeped out, but it is totally natural and what is best for him.
Not sure if Roll has said this anywhere, but he got a new job that pays more, has better benefits, and is closer. It is 3 - 10 hour days so he's still working at his old job part time. It definitely makes for a very busy schedule with me also working 3 - 10 hour days, but as I said I'm hoping to be able to go down to part time in the near future.
I haven't had a ton of time (or energy!) to play many games, but I did get a good bit of time in on Beyond: Two Souls. I'm pretty sure that I'm right near the end and just keep getting distracted by other things. I really have enjoyed the story so far, even if the timeline reminds me of the movie Momento. I played a little of Pokemon but couldn't really get into it. I know if I give it the time I would enjoy it, but on my list of stuff it has sadly been bumped pretty low. A Link Between Worlds on the other hand... I've been playing to poop out of that. Right now I think I have 2 more heart pieces left to find, and less than 15 of the octobaby things. The game is just amazing. I love it.
I'm sure there's more I could talk about, but for now here's a really cute picture of Jesse under the Christmas tree.
