hahaha, yeah, a food topic sounds... *drool*

-about Chinese cakes. I honestly don't really know what else to call them because that's generally how my family made the distinction since we believe "American cakes" and "Chinese cakes" we've had seem so different. A lot of American cakes I've had generally have a somewhat stiff very sugary sweet frosting (which I think is vegetable shortening based); not only that but a lot of them seem to have a strong sweet kick. "Chinese cakes" from Chinese bakeries generally have a very light frosting (like a vanilla extract/half & half mix), often have a variety of fruits mixed in and on top, and have a subtly sweet taste. Also, unlike American cakes, Chinese cakes tend to not have chocolate in the cake mix; if there is chocolate, it would be chocolate shavings or slices on the outside. I guess another reason we call them "Chinese cakes" is because they don't usually sell "American cakes" in Chinese bakeries. XD
I'm happy you like the fish background and thank you! =D
