I come here while searchin for some webtoons long time ago. Maybe it was joystiq, who knows, but I laughed at some of the early ones. I guess I was finally spurned to register after that FF13 comic. Having just beaten the game myself (slowpoke, I know) I found it funny. Don't know how often I can post here but I thought I'd say hi anyways.

Something gaming-related to break the ice? Okay...um, I got a Sega Genesis for a birthday present when I was like six years old. It did what Nintendidn't. Sonic 2 was like my first video game ever. That counts, right?

Oh man do I ever remember that slogan...lol. I also started with a Sega. Course for me, there were friends that I could go to their house to play whatever games I didn't have and vice versa so it all worked out.

In any case, welcome to the forums! Don't worry about being crazy active, just chime in on whatever interests you. If you're able we also play stuff together on Steam on Saturday (or other non Steam games), usually they're all free to play types so everyone can join also.

Woo! Welcome to the forum Tracer! Very awesome of you to join us and give Pie and me some encouragement for the FF13 comic XD

You know, I completely missed out on all Sega platforms until the Dreamcast. No one I knew had it and almost no one I knew was even a gamer. I wanted to play the Genesis SO badly though.

At the time, Blockbuster would allow you to rent video game systems, and I made it my life's mission to rent a Genesis so that I could see all the great games I was missing out on. The problem was, they required a full deposit of the price of the system to rent it and my parents would not do it. I actually had to save up the $250 or whatever and beg my parents to let me use their credit card to rent the damn thing. I finally came home with it in their rental briefcase and had a magical weekend with it.

I don't know why, but the Earth must have been out of whack at the very same time because the weekend only lasted 10 minutes. I was pretty pissed off after that. Stupid planet and its stupid rotation...

On a related note, at some point several years after that Genesis my parents got me a "Sega Nomad" because they were on sale. It was one of those things that sounded good on paper: a handheld system that could play Genesis games just like the normal system could. Unfortunately, the things took 6 AA batteries to run, and sucked so much power that they would die out in an hour unless you had an AC attachment and an outlet nearby, which kinda defeated the purpose in the first place.

I could talk more about my experience on FF13 but I'll save that for the proper forum section later. Short version: it met expectations, but its detractors were not wrong.
