So... umm... hello all. My name is The Paul, but you can just call me The if you really want to. I currently live in Las Vegas were I really don't do much at all, except play video games and wander the internet like some kind of wandering badass and/or hobo.

Also... um... I'm working on fulfilling my childhood dream of flying up into the stars and stealing sh** from Space Frigates or whatever they're called. If anyone would like to join me in this venture, just e-mail me a tiny portion of your brain so that I can power the dream making machine.

Yay for new people and welcome! I also live in Vegas and do...pretty much the same thing except maybe more on the hobo side than the badass side, oh, and I have no Internet other than my phone for another month so I guess that's different too.........I guess just the games thing, we'll go with that one.

Other than the obvious since you have a Persona avatar, what other games are you into? I'd join you in the space frigates thing but you never know, one day I might have to escort one or something and that would be a conflict of interests =X

Yeah, I love Persona 3&4 and all the other Shin Megami games Atlus was nice enough to bring to the PS2 (although I haven't even put DDS in my PlayStation yet). Also enjoy stuff like Catherine and Disgaea. Over the top Beat-um-Ups like God Hand and Yakuza also hold a special place in my heart. Um... and Hack n' Slashers, but the only one of those I've played recently was Sengoku Basara (which is awesome, by the way). Fighting Games are also less than three, but I don't really have anyone to play them with, so I usually put them to the side after unlocking everything.

Other resent notable games that don't fit into my favorite genres, but I still love are Saints Row, Shadows of the Damned, and Skyrim. Also, Star Wars: The Old Republic, but I think I'm to the point where I want to play with my friends, but we're not anywhere near the same level on any of our characters and don't have the same schedules.

My current game systems are Compy, PSP, PS2, PS3, and a 3DS.

Sounds like some pretty similar tastes. Have you gotten to play Disgaea 4? The new sprites look good, and I was enjoying it so far, though sadly I have to restart but I wasn't TOO far so I don't mind too much. I'm somewhat similar as far as fighting games goes...there was only one time when I was really playing them with a good group of people, but that was for about 3 years and was some of the most fun I've had with games period. I keep getting them as they come out (Soul Calibur on order) but usually only end end doing the same, unlocking and getting decent with a character or two then stopping since I have nobody to play with currently.

Which are your favs? For me it's Soul Calibur 2, Smash Bros (any), MvsC2, Guilty Gear XX...but I've played a good bit of most fighting games...except Mortal Kombat, never been a fan. Of course also looking forward to that Persona fighting game, that should be good.

I almost got Star Wars but due to multiple issues decided not to. Was moving, no Internet for a while, multiple friends playing ALL ON DIFFERENT SERVERS. Ugh...that always seems to happen to me though. As far as MMOs go I'm still playing WoW off and on until Diablo 3 comes out =P

I have Disgaea 4 and I played.... a bit of it... Only got as far as beating up the Warden... Yeah...
But I'll get back to it.... one of these days!

Definitely going down and picking up the new Soul Calibur when it comes out. Hopefully it's like 2 and 3 and has plenty of extra stuff to unlock that isn't stupid (glares at 4). I love Tekken, Soul Cal, MvC2 & 3, King of Fighters (although I kinda suck at it), Guilty Gear (also suck at), Dark Stalkers (please make a new one) and the new Mortal Kombat. Smash Bros is always loved, too, but this 3DS is the first Nintendo console I've had since GameCube and Game Boy Color. I did play and beat the resent one on my roommate's Wii back in College, though.

I don't know if I'll pick up Diablo 3, or not. I never got around to playing 1 or 2, but it does seem like something I'd enjoy. Only problem is my laptop has some funny ideas about what Internet means and even when I have a wired connection, bad stuff happens. I'll have to see how nasty the "DRM" is before I pull the trigger on that purchase.




Edit (I guess): Let's see. Um... well games I actually play on my 3DS are Pokemon Rumble Blast, Resident Evil: Mercenaries, and that DOA game when it first came out. Mostly played some DS games when I first got it, but I don't remember which ones. I also got Cave Story 3D and SMT: Devil Survivor: Overclocked waiting to be stuck in there.

Yay, I like KoF, Guilty Gear, and Darkstalkers too! XD Kinda funny and sad though that I popped Garou Mark of the Wolves and Darkstalkers in the ol' console yesterday and totally sucked. -_- -but I suppose that though I may really like some fighting games, I've always kinda... been bad at them. '_'

I'm happy that though you've been reading the comic for a long time that you were finally compelled to join the forums! XD It's really uplifting to know! =D Welcome!!

Yeah, it's mostly the characters and their design that make me love 2D Fighting Games. I'm really not that great at them, but seeing those little sprite people (well, not always people) beat the living pixels out of each other just warms the cockles of my heart.

Also, thanks for the welcomes, y'all. I would've joined the forums sooner, but I didn't know they existed and had to be sure this wasn't a big elaborate set up to steal my teeth for some foul magic... but mostly because I didn't know they were here.

Are you going to end up picking up the Persona fighting game when it comes stateside? I imagine a lot of people here would be into that game, so hopefully you can find some people to play with here =)

I loved Diablo 1 and missed D2 completely. I might look into D3 also because I really feel like having an RPG with a little bit of character depth that I can just dungeon crawl and beat up monsters in a group for fun.

Awesome, it's always good to hear about people who still love the 2D sprite based fighters. It reminds me too I somehow forgot another of my top favorites, Capcom vs SNK 2 which I still think is one of the best and most skill based 2D fighters out there.

I woulda mentioned loving Darkstalkers too but I don't think Capcom will ever do it...last time they talked about it they spewed some crap that it was be too much work and money to redo all the sprites (MvsC3 anyone? I call bs). I have several KoF games also but most SNK games seem too "special move" based, though I still have fun with em.
