It's funny; I never really thought about where my parents had been when I reached the same point (especially since my parents had me and my brother way earlier than my wife and I had our kid, in terms of age). There's always those thoughts about other people - those who are younger than you and successful at various talents - but in terms of family...anyone can be family. Doesn't have to be blood. Family doesn't necessarily mean kids, either. I can see where you're coming from, though. The "Fantasy" of it, I mean. People make the same stories over and over and you see things that your brain labels as "normal", and you feel like you want it. Humanity really loves the "normal" label. We're kinda addicted to it, and you have to battle it every day.
