Child's Play

Postby TheNesta » Sun Sep 16, 2012 2:53 am

Not Ghaleon dear Quark. MAGIC EMPEROR GHALEON!

Probably my favorite quote in any game. Just sticks out in my mind so vividly.

I'll say this strip has inspired me to replay Lunar: Eternal Blue again, but that will require some digging around in boxes to find my copy of the game. I was half waiting for it to get the remake treatment like Silver Star Story did on PSP, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen unfortunately.

Never did get one of those Ghaleon puppets, but man I sure wish I had!

(I really liked the strip too /no1 )

@Nesta- I'm happy that the comic inspired you to play Lunar2 again. XD

@Fixxxer- Yes, that is indeed Ninja Turtle cereal! ah, the 80's. XD I'm really happy you pointed it out Fixxxer!! =D I was wondering if anyone would able to interpret what cereal it is. =) Bear joked that it's been sitting in our cupboard for decades... XD;; sure you want some?

OH MAN, TMNT cereal. Loved that stuff; both my brother and I had the turtle bowls (in fact, I hope my parents still have those things packed away somewhere because I need to be randomly eating out of one of those some morning).

Otherwise: I KNOW that Ghaleon puppet was somewhere in the back of my mind...I don't think any of my friends had it, but then what is it doing in my memory? Must have seen it somewhere.

Ah well, the point here is that there are SO MANY different video game villians that need a punch puppet. Those things are damn hilarious and I've always wanted one. I have to say that the scenario would be the exact same if I had one, though: Just standing there punchin' my wife while she tries to eat breakfast (lunch, and dinner). It would be like the teeniest, tiniest, cutest spousal abuse ever!

I noticed the cereal in the comic also, but I'm not sure if I remember the actual cereal...but I think I remember the bowls...my memory is kinda bad =P

Regardless, I find it especially hard to resist special editions for any games/series I really like, or just any game that comes with something cool. Which is prolly why it's a good thing I don't live in Japan since they have tons of special editions and stuff that we don't get here which is good for my money but still makes me sad =P

Finally, lol at Alexx, I'm sure I prolly would also since I'm always teasing Farore as it is anyway...

First off, I love the animation in this comic. The second to last panel looks devilishly epic.

Second, Bear's expression in the last panel is too fitting. Giant, wide grin as he relentlessly attacks Pie via hand puppet, love it.

Finally, yes, Roll would undoubtedly do this if we had such a puppet. As he said, it's a good thing that they don't do as much special edition stuff over here as they do in Japan, we'd be broke. Oh, and our apartment would be even more jam packed than it already is.

I really loved this comic!!! It's funny I ususally go by Hrist Or Ghaleon on the internets, even Mia Ausa another great character in Lunar.

I've loved John Truit <3 <3 <3 Ghaleon's Voice Actor since Lunar TSS on the Sega CD, it was the best.

I have been following your comics for awhile now, alot of them are really good as most are really about RPGS, I really loved your one on earthbound and the power points restore that was a really awesome comic, actually most are really good.

I make RPG based webcomics too too so it's great to see a site like yours, there isn't many good quality RPG webcomics out there, some.

It was great to see you do one on Lunar, Ghaleon has to be one of my favorite characters of all time, I even had the chance to be Borgan at a E3 show once, I wish I did it, I just thought it would be too hot to be in a costume like that all day. But I really love WD, I had a friend working there and she would get me tons of loot which I loved, I even got an extra Ghaleon Punching Doll at E3, and I had the one I got when I preorderd the game.

I love this game the most, I've been on a lunar irc network for the last 15 years, I could go on about this game forever,

you comic turned out quite well, it's good to see other people know about the Ghaleon punching doll, I have this youtube video of me and mine I made a few years back, you should check it out : D

@hrist- Thank you for your compliments on our comic! =D I'm very happy you enjoy them. ^-^ I've been a really big fan of the Lunar series myself since the Sega CD ages too. =) There's a lot I'd like to write about Lunar, but I just don't have the time right now. -hopefully one day. ^^;;

Boxing Ghaleon is definitely one of the coolest game bonuses ever! XD
