Diablo 3, the thread

Postby RollCasket » Tue Sep 13, 2011 9:32 pm

This is pre-emptive obviously as it's still a ways off, but I figured I might as well get one started to talk about stuffs as it comes out.

I dunno how into Diablo anyone here is, I played the hell (haha) out of D2 + expansion and my fav class is still Amazon...so when I saw there wasn't going to be Amazons in D3 that already reduced my interest a bit. Then there was real money auction house, few skills avail, longer seeming fights, and some other things that dwindled my interest further. I still knew I was going to get and play it anyway, cause it's D3, but now with the inclusion of the skill calculator I've suddenly become more interested again =P

I've done up with I think I'm going to do for Barbarian (female) but they have a lot going on so it may be totally different when I play, but I'm going for kinda a WoW with crits, hp regen and a lil knockback. Then there's the Witch Doctor (male) who I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted and I think there's some good synergy going on with my more , a lot less cluster-fuck-ish than the barb build I got goin. Then, for fun, looking at the stuff that Wizard had gave me a good idea for a that I think is pretty awesome. Blizz already said they are NOT balancing the game for pvp so this seems a pretty broken pvp set-up in my opinion.

Barbarian will prolly be my party character and Witch Doctor my solo character as I don't think he'll need any help at all =P

As always, my obsession with time travel comes into play, leading me to the conclusion that I must play a Wizard, simply because they have a bubble that slows down projectiles and enemies that enter it.

Course, I've always loved magic casters. Odd since my WoW main is a Death Knight, was a Feral Druid and I intend to make a Hunter.

Yeah I linked that pvp Wizard build which I'm interested in...but I'm not sure what I want to do for a wiz in the actual game, which is why that'll be like my 3rd character. As everyone who knows me, I am very much an altoholic =P

Like WoW for example, my "main" seems to change with every expansion, and even then as the exp goes on it sometimes shifts around. I have all 10 classes, 8 are 85 and the Warlock is 83 and DK 81. DK quickly became the least fun class for me the more they changed it =P The characters that are closest to mains are my warr and priest who for some reason is in a stupid pose...wish I could change that. The only 85 not decently geared is my pally who is the newest 85 and hasn't been touched since =P

I am also eagerly awaiting this game for co-op with gaming friends. The Wizard is what draws my attention, though the Monk looks like it could be fun as well. I usually tend to enjoy holy fighter (Paladin/Combat Cleric) type classes in games like this, but that doesn't really seem to be an option this time around.

Lightning and force type spells are some of my favorites, so I think I will be able to get a decent amount of that out of the Wizard. Woe to the lightning rods that stand before a Wizard ;)

Even though I'm interested in the WoW monks, it's literally the last class I'll make. Maybe getting to try it will change my mind, but they already buffed it way up cause they were so weak and underwhelming. I dunno, dark hunter is kinda in the same boat though. Can't wait for witch doctor though, and barb for co-op. Been totally in the mood for a good hack n slash, and Torchlight only helped for a bit.

Regardless, I just want to play =P a beta invite would be nice blizz...

I'm looking forward to it anyways, I really enjoyed Diablo 2, and am hoping for something as good or if possible better.
I haven't really been looking it up alot, mostly due to the fact that I don't want to get into a hype about it, because if I do, well the play experience of it just won't be as much fun as nothing will be what i expect and such.
I generally don't go with builds, I tend to just make a character that I can have some fun with, often they aren't the best, but there never terrible. I find that if I put too much thought into it I don't enjoy it as much.
But still can't wait to play.

I am Pretty excited for this too, I just hope it comes out someday, Blizz keeps going back and forth on things in it which only delays it, I understand they will release it when it's ready but if they keep putting things in and taking them out they might never finish.

I am not sure what I would play for the most part all the classes have a charm about them, I'll probably make one and try them out and go with the ones I have the most fun with. :D

So finally got into the beta...for Diablo 3, lol. Oh well, guess I can mess around with it for a month before it comes out. Still wondering where my Mists of Pandaria beta invite is...>.>

Pretty cool so far...though I kinda liked the original rune system they had, at least as it is now it makes level ups feel a bit better as you're getting stuff more often.

Loot porn abounds.
