Bought the special edition super-whatever, 'cause I'm a sucker. Still, it's got some cool stuff (though I really would have liked a FULL soundtrack). Anyway, I've only messed with it a little, so far, but I'm liking what I'm seeing! Absolutely wonderful graphics. I'm not usually shocked and amazed by that stuff (since everyone seems to think the most impressive stuff is the most realistic) but this stuff is just AWESOME! I love how they made 3D models that LOOK like spritework! Fantastic stuff.
Game wise, it feels great. I went through all the characters, and I can manage all my favorite moves, even after the years that have passed without my playing much Guilty Gear. I haven't gotten deep into the mechanics, but that'll take some time. It's been awhile since I've played, but it's been even longer since I played WELL.
Music wise, it's METAL. As always. I'm not familiar with all of it yet, but I am loving what I'm hearing. (Which is why I'd like an easy way to buy the soundtrack, 'cause Daisuke Ishiwatari has never let me down).
Only thing that has thrown me off is the English voice acting...it's not like it's bad, I'm just SO used to the Japanese voices. They haven't translated the characters before, so it sounds all off. I should probably give it a decent shot first, but after a few seconds of Ky's English attack noises I went and switched it to Japanese so I could hear all the familiar sounds I associate with my favorite attacks.
I'm looking forward to delving into this one!
