I got a big stick, because I knew I was going to be putting a lot of game data in there.
I am not a reasonable man.

DUUUUR I'm playing Mario RPG! For like...I dunno, the thousandth time or something. Because my SNES was set up and I was showing my nephew some games, and then Mario RPG somehow floated in the slot and OH GOD why can't I play some of the new games I haven't touched?

On the other hand, I'm at least doing some stuff I never bothered doing before, like getting all the hidden treasure boxes and this Star Egg from a boring look-the-other-way minigame. I'm also trying yet again for the Super Jump thing and yet again I am failing. Just can't get over 18 or so. It'll be lucky to get 30, but I have no idea how I'll ever do the 100.

Played a couple hours of Heavy Rain the other day. Amazing game, very emotional and beautifully designed. In the bit that I played there were some amazing surprises and the game really plays with your thoughts and emotions. Quickly becoming my second favourite game on the PS3.

On a side note, for those of you who haven't played Mass Effect,

I do the impossible, like skiing through a revolving door.

I just beat Mario RPG myself Alex. I hadn't played the game since I was 8 and felt like reliving my childhood a bit. It was like a sweater out of the dryer on a cold winter morning.

My girlfriend bought me Profesor Layton and the Miracle Mask for my birthday and it's as addicting as the rest of them. The 3D quality is surprisingly good.

I bought El Shaddai for myself for my bday and OMGBBQWTF where has this game been all my life?! This game has the best visuals in any game I've ever played and I've never had so much fun.

It's a beautiful hack and slash with quite a few fun platformer stages. The combat gets old fast at times, but you are too impressed with the shininess to care. Loads of cool "stuff" keeps you entertained and the frequent boss fights keeps things challenging and fun. Think of it as a poor man's Bayonetta and that isn't an insult since Bayonetta is like the best game in the universe. Just be careful going in if you hate over the top nonsense and it is really hard to understand the story unless you are very familiar with Jewish texts and the Bible. I had to keep going to wikipedia to figure out who was who lol.

Grats on beating SMRPG you two! It's encouraging to hear your positive sentiments about El Shaddai Crispy; I'm certainly interested in checking that one out.

It is very funny that you mention Actraiser today Alexx, Pie and I were just thinking about making a comic on that game this week. It really is a game worth checking out, and like you, I really enjoyed the town building aspects of it. A lot of people who are familiar with the game say they miss that aspect in Actraiser 2. Actraiser 2 is a beautiful and fun game, but the music and overall flavor makes it less interesting than part 1.

I'm not sure if you have or not, but if you get a chance, check out Soul Blazer; if you liked Actraiser, you might enjoy it as well as it is another great action-rpg with a sort of town building aspect, also made by Quintet and published by Enix. Of course speaking of Soul Blazer, you should check out its spiritual successors made by the same company, Illusion of Gaia and Terranigma.

Downloaded a few games at random off of PSN. The first is Class of Heroes, which is turning out to be a dud for me. I keep restarting the thing, which I guess is a bad sign. I know I need to check some things out till I get used to it, but some things just seem rediculous. The basic premise is that in this world a bunch of labyrinths popped up out of nowhere and people got so into adventuring that they started schools for it. Anyway, I try to level and get pounded within three battles. I try to heal, but appearantly resting in my dorm costs 100 gold, which I don't have. I try to sell items, but unapparaised items can't be sold, I don't have any money to appraise them, and I can't yet get the character class that can appraise for free. The starter characters come with a little bit of money, but I want to make my own characters and they come with nothing. I'm really feeling completely handicapped from the start. I still want to give it a chance, but things are not looking up.

Next is Threads of Fate, which I've been playing on my Vita. Cool game so far despite that I keep complaining about everything while I play it. I think every boss and every mini-game has frustrated me to some degree, but I keep playing so I must be enjoying it. The boss fights feel sort of like Ys light, so once I figure out what to do I end up having a pretty good time. But man, Fancy Mel's mini games you have to play while waiting for her. The swings, man those dastardly swings. Still, fun game so far.

And last is Legend of Mana, which I decided to download on the PS3 since the Vita doesn't have R2 and L2 buttons, and also so I could see it. I love the art style, but it's difficult to see on a small screen. The music has been good so far too and I'm looking forward to more. I have no flip'n clue what I'm doing, but it's been the most fun of any of these three games. I've already learned that talking to anyone, anyone, might initiate a quest, so I'm being a little careful. Battle is cool, even if its sometimes a bit difficult to line up attacks on enemies. Probably a game people would suggest playing with a guide, but for now I'm kind of happy fumbling my way through it. I like a decent tutorial, but it's actually kind of nice to be thrown into something with no idea what I'm doing and having to suss it out myself instead of the overbearing handholding a lot of games have nowadays.

Class of Heroes definitely has a steep hill to climb to start, but after that it isn't too bad. I kinda like those games though so I put a good bit of time into it. I haven't gone back to it in forever though, it's still sitting in my...not at all hacked...psp.

I really liked Threads of Fate though despite some corny dialog and other small problems. I like the style of it and two main characters, even if "Mint" is a weird name I love her and her sister's designs. Been a while since I played it but I know I also have it on my psp and had started a new game that I hadn't finished. I beat it when it came back, but I do that a lot where I just wanna play an older game again and I may or may not go all the way through =X

Legend of Mana I have a lot of love and hate for. There are so many weird things in it, but some of it is also really interesting...like how far away you put a dungeon area on the map determines how hard it'll be (which you'll often want for more exp and items). I also like the variety of weapons and I'm pretty sure it had two player also...I forget. But yeah, I dunno, really up and down on that game.

Mario RPG is still a lot of fun and I think it still holds up great today. I played it on SNES originally but I also have it on my Wii and played it again a few years ago, still lots of fun. I still think the Lazy Shells kinda break the game a bit, most especially the armor. Cause then Peach can never die and heal/rez whenever =P Then again the Culex battle would be pretty hard without it =P

I'm still playing Ragnarok Odyssey and still havin a lot of fun with it. I've been jumping around on so many games lately though. Best Code of Princess on 3DS, played a decent amount of Skylanders Giants, Borderlands 2, WoW, Street Fighter X Tekken on Vita/PS3, and various other games that I need to go back to x.x Then...on the 20th Persona 4 Golden comes out, lol.
