So I work at a library - dunno if I ever mentioned that. Anyway, we're having the carpets cleaned tomorrow, so that means I spent most of tonight moving everything that isn't nailed down or full of books up into the old house. Well...save for two shelves full of books. For whatever reason, the boss wanted to get rid of two shelving units that had been screwed into the wall for a good while. We pretty much had a good idea of how long, since our historian knows when the carpets were originally put in and all that, and he knows when the everything was put up before that....however...
In between two peices of the shelves (hard to explain) a little box fell out.
Milk Duds! Old, old Milk Duds. Before they sold the name to Hershey, even! I looked up the box and it seems it's from the 50's to 60's area, so whoever had put that shelving unit together originally had dropped that inside, somehow. It's been there ever since, as evidenced by the paint on the side:
That's the color of the shelves, and the shelves were painted that color sometime in the early 90's. Oh, and there's no Duds inside, thankfully! Only a little wax bag that would have held them.
There's the ingredients, in case you're curious. Anyway, just thought that was interesting! The box is in perfect shape save for the paint.
